Semarang (7/23) from 07:30 to 08:40, an undergraduate student dedication activity ignited a spirit at SMPTQ Pangeran Diponegoro Semarang. In order to support student learning, this event focused on the utilization of the Digital Library as an innovative learning tool.

The community service team is chaired by Gani Nur Pramudyo, S.IP., M.Hum, and involves four students, namely Virtu Ozo Fable Tchaikovsky, Aretha Hanny Patricia, Amalia Isma Firhansyah, and Tri Indrawati opened the event warmly. They introduced the material about digital libraries with simple questions, provoking students’ enthusiasm. The 8th-grade female students of SMPTQ actively participated in the session, giving interesting answers about digital libraries, from online libraries to bookless libraries.

Subsequently, material about the definition of digital libraries, their history, and examples of digital libraries was presented interactively. To provide a better understanding, the students used the iJateng and iPusnas digital library applications in a demonstration.

The highlight of the event was the lively question-and-answer session. Students posed interesting questions, such as the differences between digital libraries and other reading apps like Wattpad or Fizo Novel, the features that can be utilized in a digital library, the size of the digital library app that needs to be installed on a mobile phone, and the benefits of downloading a digital library app, among other questions.

The Library Science students enthusiastically answered all the questions, providing clear and concise explanations. To add to the excitement, a guessing game of animal images was also conducted, bringing joyful laughter among the students.

The excitement didn’t stop there, as ten of the most actively participating students in the Q&A session were awarded prizes. At the end of the event, an unforgettable moment was captured with a group  photo.

Hopefully, this dedication activity serves as an inspiring beginning and assists the students of SMPTQ Pangeran Diponegoro in harnessing modern library technology to support their learning. “Tracing the Digital Path” brings a new spirit to the world of literacy and education for a bright future.
