Wednesday, March 15 2024, a curriculum review event for the Bachelor of Library and Information Science Study Program, Faculty of Humanities , Diponegoro University was held in the large courtroom on the 2nd floor of Building A. This event was attended by the Dean of Faculty of Humanities, namely Prof. Dr Alamsyah, M.Hum and lecturers of the Library and Information Science Undergraduate Study Program. The event was opened by the Head of the Library and Information Science Undergraduate Study Program, namely Heriyanto, S.Sos, M.IM, Ph.D. He conveyed about the implementation of curriculum review activities and introduced the speaker at this event. The speaker was Dr. Bekti Mulatiningsih from the University of Queensland, Australia. Next, the Dean of Faculty of Humanities gave a speech while giving encouragement and expressing his appreciation to all the lecturers who had attended the curriculum review event.
This event took place from 3 to 5 pm and was held enthusiastically discussing the current curriculum. Apart from that, the speaker, who is familiarly called Miss Uti also shared experiences about scientific developments in Australia. In this curriculum review event, Miss Uti also provided suggestions regarding what courses could be adopted to be implemented in the Library and Information Science Bachelor’s Study Program. Some of the courses proposed are digital literacy, libraries based on social inclusion, scientific communication, research data management, metrics, literature review and systematic studies, references and plagiarism, and generative artificial intelligence in libraries.
In this session the lecturers and the speaker exchanged ideas and shared real conditions in the field. Apart from that, the lecturers also said that several of these courses could be adopted in line with the increasingly rapid development of library science and information technology. There is great hope that this curriculum review event will provide benefits for students, lecturers and teaching staff in the Library and Information Science Undergraduate Study Program, Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University. At the end of the curriculum review event, all the lecturers and resource persons took the time to take a group photo. The event went smoothly and closed with a joint prayer.
