Semarang, September 27, 2025 – The Library and Information Science Program, Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University, organized a webinar with the theme “Culture and Information Institution Management: Strategies to Overcome the Intellectual Capital Crisis in Libraries”. The event featured Prof. Dr. Laksmi, S.S., M.A. as the keynote speaker and was attended by students from various cohorts, faculty members, and professionals in the field of library and information science.

The webinar was held as an effort to broaden academic insights, strengthen understanding of the importance of intellectual capital in managing information institutions, and encourage collaboration between the academic community and practitioners in formulating strategies to address the knowledge crisis in libraries.

The series of activities began with an opening by the Master of Ceremony, Keisya Ayu Prameswari. This was followed by the singing of the Indonesian National Anthem and the Diponegoro University Hymn as a form of respect and reflection on national and institutional identity. Next, a welcoming speech was delivered by the Head of the Library and Information Science Program, Heriyanto, Ph.D., who emphasized the urgency of the webinar’s theme for the advancement of knowledge in the field of library and information studies.

In the main session, Prof. Dr. Laksmi, S.S., M.A. delivered a comprehensive presentation on strategies to overcome the intellectual capital crisis in libraries. The presentation was followed by an interactive discussion moderated by Nur’aini Perdani SP, S.Hum., M.A. The discussion was lively, marked by active participation from attendees who raised questions and provided critical insights that enriched the substance of the event.

Toward the end of the program, closing remarks were given by Lydia Christiani, S.Hum., M.Hum., who expressed appreciation for the contributions of the speaker, the moderator, and the enthusiasm of the participants. The event concluded with the presentation of certificates to the speaker and moderator as a token of appreciation, followed by a group photo session that marked the official closing of the webinar.

Through this activity, it is expected that stronger collaboration will be fostered among the academic community, particularly in the development of studies on culture and information institution management. The webinar also aimed to inspire students, researchers, and practitioners to continue enhancing their academic and professional competencies, as well as to strengthen the role of libraries as centers of knowledge in facing the challenges of the digital era.
