Yogyakarta (11/23) On November 25 2023, the Diponegoro University UNDIP Library Science Study Program Student Association (HMPS Ilpus) carried out a comparative study activity with the UGM Archeology Student Association (HIMA) at UGM, Yogyakarta. This activity aims to share experiences and knowledge in organizational management as well as collaboration between organizations

The 2023 Comparative Study Activity with the theme “Building Togetherness for the Future of a Cultured Organization” began with a speech from the supervisor of HMPS Ilpus who conveyed the goals and hopes of this comparative study activity. Followed by remarks from the supervisor of HIMA UGM, chairman of HMPS Ilpus, chairman of HIMA UGM.

After the speech, the event continued with kewer-kewer exercises. All comparative study participants swayed cheerfully following the kewer-kewer exercise instructor. This activity also involved a discussion session between HMPS Ilpus UNDIP and HIMA UGM. These two organizations exchange information about the programs that have been implemented on each campus, the obstacles faced, and the solutions that have been found in library management.

“What’s interesting about HIMA UGM is that their ABA (Underwater Archaeology) division is tasked with researching underwater archeology by diving,” said one of the participants. “Perhaps it could also be treated at Ilpus regarding library research which is still not feasible or not affordable by the public,” answered the participant from HIMA UGM. The two organizations discussed finding common threads obtained from the results of the comparative study carried out at UGM.

Chair of HIMA UGM, Nurul Athifah, welcomed the presence of HMPS Ilpus UNDIP and hoped that this kind of activity could continue to be carried out in the future. “We are happy to be able to share experiences with our brothers from UNDIP. We hope that this comparative study can bring benefits and strengthen relations between organizations,” said Nurul Athifah.

As the closing of the activity, the HMPS Ilpus UNDIP students gave a plaque of appreciation as a token of memory that HMPS Ilpus UNDIP had visited HIMA UGM during a comparative study activity. The comparative study activity between HMPS Ilpus UNDIP and HIMA UGM is expected to be the first step for further collaboration in the field of libraries and field of archaeology.
