Semarang, Tuesday 08/09/2020 – Diponegoro University Library Science Study Program held an alumni meeting in the framework of the 15th Anniversary of Library Science. Even though it was held in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, this event ran smoothly through the Zoom application intermediary. The alumni gathering with the theme “Dies Natalis and Reunion in the Pandemic Period: Alumni Shares Inspiration” was opened by Hafifah Saragih as moderator at 09.15 WIB.

The event began with an opening by Hafifah Saragih as the moderator, followed by remarks from Mrs. Sri Ati as one of the figures in charge of the Library Science study program. Then a speech from Mrs. Rukiyah as the head of the Library Science study program. The Alumni sharing event was filled by two alumni representatives, namely: Dicki Agus Nugroho and Arina Faila Saufa.

In the first session, Dicki explained the tips to become a librarianpreanur. According to Dicki, starting an entrepreneurship begins with having a mentor, mentor is considered as one of the supporting systems when he is not confident and has no direction. He emphasized that starting self-branding can be through social media such as Instagram as proof of his abilities. Dicki also said that there are 2 components in self-branding, namely the main component and the supporting component.

In the next session, Arina gave a presentation regarding the Excellence Scholarship scheme that she managed to get to continue studying S2. Arina had worked for 1 year as a Jawa Pos journalist. According to her, the journalist’s job was not much different from the science in library science. Arina said, the Ministry of Education and Culture’s superior scholarships are divided into 2, namely high achievers and employees of the Ministry of Education and Culture. He also conveyed the tips to pass the superior scholarship, namely the files must be complete according to the requirements and do not upload the wrong files.

At the end of the session, the moderator opened a discussion session between the presenters and the participants which the participants responded enthusiastically. The event was closed with a group photo session at 11.40 WIB.
