Semarang, August 4, 2025 – The Library and Information Science Program, Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Diponegoro welcome benchmarking visit from the Islamic Library and Information Science Program, Muhammadiyah University of Ponorogo on Monday, August 4, 2025. This activity was conducted as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation between higher education institutions and share best practices in program management and academic development.

The event began with opening remarks, followed by a presentation of the profile of the Library and Information Science Program at FIB UNDIP. The presentation covered curriculum structure, learning outcomes, human resource development strategies, and various innovations in educational management and student activities. The discussion session was lively and interactive, involving faculty members and students from both programs.

Beyond exchanging information on academic and institutional aspects, both parties also discussed the management of student organizations or student associations within their respective programs. The discussion covered organizational structure, flagship programs, strategies for developing student leadership, and the role of student associations in supporting academic and non-academic activities within the program.

Through this activity, it is hoped that positive synergy will be established between the Library and Information Science programs, both within Islamic higher education institutions and general higher education institutions. This visit is also expected to serve as the first step toward further collaboration, including joint research, faculty and student exchanges, institutional capacity-building programs, and collaboration between student organizations.

This benchmarking activity is not only an opportunity for information exchange but also a momentum to strengthen academic networks that support the improvement of higher education quality in the field of library and information science in Indonesia. The collaborative spirit fostered through this meeting is hoped to become a strong foundation for creating an adaptive, inclusive, and sustainable higher education ecosystem.
