Boyolali (07/23) A deep concern over the low level of digital literacy among teenagers in Kendel Village has prompted Wahyu Nugroho Jati, a Library Science student, to take action. On Friday, July 21, 2023, Jati and the KKN Undip Team 2 2023 embarked on an attention-grabbing initiative. This program involved 48 students from the 7th grade of Mts Islamiyah and aimed to improve their understanding of digital literacy through an intelligent game called “Treasure Hunt: Finding the Missing Paragraph.”

The game’s mechanics introduced four distinct stations located in different areas. Enthusiastic students actively engaged in searching for scattered paragraph fragments at each station. These paragraph snippets contained information about digital literacy, with one word highlighted in each piece representing a specific term related to digital literacy. The intriguing challenge for the students lay in interpreting these terms based on their perspectives and comprehension.

In this program, Jati and his team encouraged students to think critically, collaborate, and assemble information cohesively through the game. The students were challenged to think outside the box and provide unique perspectives in interpreting the digital literacy terms they encountered.

Through the intelligent game “Treasure Hunt: Finding the Missing Paragraph,” Headmaster Mr. Triyono hopes that students will become more interested and engaged in understanding digital literacy in a fun and interactive manner. Moreover, the program also seeks to enhance digital literacy among teenagers in Kendel Village comprehensively.

Jati and his team were highly enthusiastic about guiding the students during the game’s implementation and remain committed to providing ongoing support to enhance digital literacy understanding in the region.

By actively involving students in learning and leveraging innovative, intelligent games, the KKN Undip Team 2 2023 has significantly enhanced digital literacy among teenagers in Kendel Village. Great expectations are placed on the positive role of the “Treasure Hunt: Finding the Missing Paragraph” game as a tool to encourage students to delve deeper into their potential for understanding digital literacy.
